Little Texas to Headline Bennett Days Concert

Grammy nominated Country Band, Little Texas, will be performing a free concert at Bennett Days. 

This is the 12th annual Bennett Days Celebration and has always been a free event to the community. Little Texas will be performing following the bull riding championship finals .

Scheduled Water Shutoff – 3rd Street

In order to repair service lines in the area, there will be a scheduled water shutoff on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 9 a.m. – Noon. 

Water will be shutoff for all homes on 3rd Street from Washington Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue. 

Crews are continuing road repairs in the area. 3rd Street will remain closed from Grant Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue with residential access only until August 5, 2022. We ask you use alternate routes and avoid the construction area during this time.

Free Over the Counter COVID-19 Test Kits

The Town of Bennett is supplying free over the counter test kits for Bennett residents. 

If residents would like to be prepared, free kits are available at Town Hall, the Bennett Park and Recreation District and Anythink Library during their normal businesses hours. 

If you are experiencing symptoms or have already tested positive for COVID-19 please do not enter the buildings.

Resurfacing and Culvert Work on CO Highway 79 full closure

The Colorado Department of Transportation will be replacing a culvert on Colorado Highway 79. 

The culvert will replace existing an culvert on CO 79 between CR 4 and CR 6. The culverts will be up sized and lengthened to allow for better drainage and safer, more resilient roadways. 

Full Closure Detour
CO 79 will be fully closed to thru traffic between CR 4 and CR 6 from July 5 through 15.  

Emergency Water Shut Off 7/1/22

UPDATE: Water service has been restored. Town of Bennett Public Works Department is asking residents to exercise water conservation today in order to relieve stress on the Town’s wells. 

Town Board Awards 2022 Bennett Gives Back Grant Recipients

The Town Board of Trustees celebrated the recipients of the 2022 Bennett Gives Back grant in a ceremony on June 28, 2022. Seven organizations received funding for projects and resources following the Bennett Gives Back Advisory Board recommendation and Board of Trustees approval. The following groups were awarded the 2022 grant: 

Old Town Water Shut Off 6/22/2022

Fiore & Sons will be working on the water main in Old Town Bennett that will cause a temporary water shut off on June 22, 2022. 

Water will be shut off from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Areas affected will be: 

  • 4th St. to 5th St. on Roosevelt Ave.
  • 5th St. north to 38th Ave.
  • 38th Ave. east to the 48000 block

Kiowa Avenue Road Closure 6/20/22 - 6/22/22

Scott Contracting with Lennar Homes will be performing work on the Kiowa Avenue water main beginning June 20, 2022 and continue through June 22, 2022. 

During this time Kiowa Avenue will be partially closed between Elm Street and Adams Street with limited residential access.
