Town Board Awards 2022 Bennett Gives Back Grant Recipients

The Town Board of Trustees celebrated the recipients of the 2022 Bennett Gives Back grant in a ceremony on June 28, 2022. Seven organizations received funding for projects and resources following the Bennett Gives Back Advisory Board recommendation and Board of Trustees approval. The following groups were awarded the 2022 grant: 

Old Town Water Shut Off 6/22/2022

Fiore & Sons will be working on the water main in Old Town Bennett that will cause a temporary water shut off on June 22, 2022. 

Water will be shut off from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Areas affected will be: 

  • 4th St. to 5th St. on Roosevelt Ave.
  • 5th St. north to 38th Ave.
  • 38th Ave. east to the 48000 block

Kiowa Avenue Road Closure 6/20/22 - 6/22/22

Scott Contracting with Lennar Homes will be performing work on the Kiowa Avenue water main beginning June 20, 2022 and continue through June 22, 2022. 

During this time Kiowa Avenue will be partially closed between Elm Street and Adams Street with limited residential access.

Town Building Inspections

The Town of Bennett Building Department is moving building inspection requests online to the permit portal. Voicemail requests will no longer be accepted. Instructions for how to request an inspection can be found here. If you are having problems requesting your inspection, you can email inspections@bennett.co.us.

Town of Bennett Receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA)

Government Finance Officers Association is pleased to announce that Town of Bennett, Colorado, has received GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its budget. The award represents a significant achievement by the entity. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget award, the entity had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. Emergency Water Shutoff

On Tuesday, June 7, 2022 there was a water main break in the area of the Brothers Four neighborhood. The Town of Bennett Public Works Department is working to resolve the problem as soon as possible. During this time water was shut off in Brothers Four, East of Elm Street as well as the Cordella neighborhood in order to repair the water line. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused.

Kiowa Street Road Closures

Crews will be conducting work on the water lines on Kiowa Street beginning on June 7, 2022. 

The intersection of Kiowa Street and South Adams Street will be closed from 6/7/2022 - 6/10/2022. 

Additionally, the intersection of Kiowa Street and Custer Street will be closed from 6/8/2022 - 6/13/2022. 

During this time please use an alternate route. 

Town of Bennett Burn Ban Rescinded

Effective immediately, the burning ban dated April 28, 2022 is has been rescinded by Town Administrator, Trish Stiles. 

The Town still urges residents use extreme caution when burning or dealing with open flames.

June is Reduced Building Permit Fee Month

During the month of June, the Town of Bennett will be offering reduced permit fees on some home projects. 

Permit fees on projects including siding, windows, fences, reroofing, decks, AC improvements, furnace replacements, water/sewer repairs and water heaters will be reduced by 50% during the month of June. 

The goal is to help residents with the cost of permit fees and still encourage home improvement projects.
