Project Update - August 18, 2023

The closure of the eastbound off and on ramps for the repair and realignment of the I-70 Eastbound off-ramp project remains on schedule. We anticipate that this portion of the project will be completed within the two week project window.

Please note that there is limited access to the following business do the construction work on Interstate 70 and State-Highway 79.

Project Update - August 10, 2023

The Marketplace signal is now live.

This project was dependent on our partners at Morton Electric and CDOT, and we are grateful for their diligence in completing the project. Additionally, we appreciate our residents' patience during this entire process.

The maintenance and operation of Highway 79 and the Marketplace signalization is owned and operated by the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Project Update - August 4, 2023

The Marketplace signal is now flashing. The signal is FLASHING RED IN BOTH DIRECTIONS.

East/west traffic at Marketplace MUST STOP.

North/south traffic on Highway 79 MUST STOP.

The signal is set to go live with normal operation late next week. We will provide an update with a fully operational date as soon as we are given the information.

Project Update - August 2, 2023

The Town of Bennett received an updated schedule for the eastbound off and on ramp closures for the repair and realignment of the I-70 Eastbound off-ramp. 

The closure will now begin on Sunday, August 13th at 7 p.m.

All construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change. We will continue to provide updates throughout this project.

Project Update - July 26, 2023

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Region 1 Traffic was on site yesterday doing final inspections of the signal. CDOT has informed the Town of the following start up schedule:

- Beginning Monday, July 31st at 7:00 a.m. the signal will begin flashing.

- The signal will flash yellow for traffic north/south on Hwy 79 and red for traffic east/west on Marketplace Drive.

- On Friday, August 4th at 7:00 a.m. the signal will become fully operational.

For the remainder of this week, additional work will take place including striping on the roadway.
