2024 Bennett Gives Back Grant

The Town of Bennett is now accepting applications for the 2024 Bennett Gives Back Grant (BGB). This grant may provide up to 90% of the costs of a qualifying event, project, program or activity in an amount up to $10,000 per organization per year from the Town’s general fund. The purpose of the program is for eligible organizations and special districts to obtain additional resources to help supplement services or resources provided to the residents of Bennett. Awarded funds will be disbursed to applicants based on Board discretion and project limits. Applications for the grant are due May 10, 2024. The awards will be announced on June 12, 2024, and the awards ceremony will take place on July 10, 2024.

Remodel of Bennett Safety Building Underway

The Town of Bennett is excited to have started construction on the remodel of the Public Works Facility, which will now serve as the Town’s Safety Building. 

This project is possible in part thanks to a generous $600,000 grant from the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA). This remodel will convert the facility to accommodate various essential departments and services. This was strategically designed to improve the building’s energy efficiency and aims to achieve a LEED Silver efficiency rating. 

Town Hall Closed - Virtual Services on Thursday, March 14, 2024

Due to the severe weather that is forecasted, the Town of Bennett will only be offering virtual services on Thursday, March 14, 2024. If you need assistance please use the Town website. The Public Works Department will maintain Town roads based on our snow removal routes and procedures.

I-70 Concrete Panel Replacement Project from Bennett to Deer Trail

The Colorado Department of Transportation and Ralph L. Wadsworth will begin work March 4, 2024 to replace the aging concrete panels along I-70 eastbound and westbound from Bennett to Deer Trail in Arapahoe County. The project is scheduled for completion on May 3, 2024. 

Why is the project needed?

The original pavement was built in 1991. The I-70 driving surfaces are deteriorating, requiring multiple repairs. They need to be permanently replaced for the long-term safety of the traveling public and will also improve driving surface conditions.

State Highway 79 Widening at 38th Avenue

Fiore & Sons, INC. and LGI homes has started a road construction project for the widening of State Highway 79 at 38th Avenue. There will be construction along SH-79 at the intersection of 38th Avenue.  During this period, SH-79 will be shut down to a single lane road all day (24 hours/day, 7 days/week).

Temporary traffic lights will be set at either end the road work to control the flow of traffic. Travelers can expect delays of up to 5 minutes while waiting for the light to change.

Passport Services Coming To Bennett

We are excited to announce that Town Hall will be designated as a Passport Acceptance Facility later this spring. Once we are open for services, we will be accepting passport applications on behalf of the U.S Department of State for any U.S. citizen. Appointments will be required. Additional details and the timeline for services will be updated on our website and social media pages as the information becomes available

Town of Bennett Mayor Issues Letter Regarding Adams County Policing Services

The Town of Bennett Board of Trustees has made the careful decision not to enter into a contract with the Adams County Sheriff’s office for additional police services in the Town of Bennett. Instead, the Town has decided to transition police services to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s office to serve all parts of the Town. 

Antelope Hills Overnight Water Pressure Reduction Thursday, February 8, 2024

The Town of Bennett Utilities department will be working on the water system in Antelope Hills overnight on Thursday, February 8, 2024.

During the construction period there will be little to no water pressure in the neighborhood. 

Work will begin on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 11:00 p.m. and continue overnight until Friday, February 9, 2024 at 6:00 a.m.

The work being performed will help create redundancy in the water system so there will be no need for complete water shutoffs of the entire neighborhood during future repairs.
