Upcoming Election Canceled And Candidates Declared Elected
In April 2024, the positions of Mayor and four trustees will be available. Nomination petitions were available to candidates from January 2, 2024 to January 22, 2024. The Town Clerk’s Office received four petitions for the Office of Trustee and one petition for the Office of Mayor. All petitioners met the qualifications to run for the office of mayor and/or trustee.
Because the number of nominees equaled the number of available positions, the Board of Trustees canceled the April 2, 2024 election and elected Whitney Oakley to the Office of Mayor and Denice Smith, Donna Sus, Royce Pindell and Larry Vittum to the Office of Trustee.
The new mayor and trustees will take the oath of office during the April 9, 2024 regular meeting.
The Town of Bennett resides in two counties; Adams and Arapahoe. Residents may register to vote at Town Hall and additional information may be obtained by contacting Adams County Elections or Arapahoe County Elections online or at the phone numbers below.

Persons desiring to vote in the upcoming election who have not registered to vote must do so on or before Election Day. Persons may register to vote, if living in Adams County, at the Adams County Motor Vehicle Office, 355 S 1st Street in Bennett. If living in Arapahoe County, persons may register to vote at the county offices at 5334 South Prince Street in Littleton or Arapahoe County Motor Vehicle Office, 538 N. Highway 36, Byers, CO 80103. Persons may also register to vote online at govotecolorado.com.
