The Town of Bennett recently implemented a new system for issuing Contractor Licensing. You must first create an account. Instructions for how to do so can be found here. If you are an existing contractor please email bennettbuilding@bennett.co.us to obtain an access code, this will allow you to link your existing license and permits to your portal.
Contractor License/Registration Classes
CLASS A - Authorized to build all construction types including buildings taller than 3 stories. Contractor must carry the equivalent license in another Colorado Jurisdiction. (If contractor does sub-contract trades as well they must get corresponding registration/license.)
CLASS B – Authorized to build commercial and residential construction of types II, IV, or V construction. Buildings may not be any taller than 3 stories. Excludes the construction of educational, institutional or hazardous occupancies. Contractor must carry the equivalent license in another Colorado Jurisdiction.
CLASS C – Authorized for Residential construction (not taller than 3 stories). Accessory Structures and Re-Models. Also Includes construction of one and two family homes. Contractor must carry the equivalent license in another Colorado Jurisdiction.
CLASS D – Includes all sub-contractors/trades not listed on another registration/license. Examples are Mechanical, Roofers, Framers, Fire Protection (without plumber), Fences, Windows, Siding, and Lawn Sprinklers. Contractor must carry ICC Certification or License from another Jurisdiction that requires Contractor Testing (Such as City of Denver).
ROW- Able to do work in the public right of way including Grading, Utility, Infrastructure, Sewer, Water and Dirt Work. Contractor must carry equivalent license in another Colorado Jurisdiction.
PLUMBING - Must provide Colorado State Master Plumber License and Colorado State Plumbing Contractor License.
ELECTRICAL - Must provide Colorado State Master Electric License and Colorado State Electrical Contractor License.

Contractor Insurance Requirements
Classes A, B, C, D, Plumbing and Electrical
General Liability coverage shall be ($600,000) - General Aggregate and ($300,000) for each occurrence. Workman Compensation/Employers Liability should be in the amount of ($500,000). Town of Bennett MUST be listed as a Certificate Holder.
ROW (Right of Way)
General Liability Coverage shall be as follows: The Permittee shall submit to the Town a Certificate of Insurance (COI) evidencing commercial general liability insurance coverage in an amount not less of $1,000,000 and listing Town of Bennett as Additional Insured. (May go as low as $400,000 for smaller projects with Town of Bennett approval). Bond may also be required.

- Copies of Valid ICC testing or current Denver or Aurora contractor license
