Virtual Support from Adams and Arapahoe County August 18, 2020

Adams and Arapahoe County are offering virtual meeting times on Tuesday, August 18, to learn more about support services and available Federal & State assistance programs, which include: Food Assistance, Health First Colorado (Medicaid), Cash Assistance, Child Care Assistance and LEAP.            

CDOT Road Repairs August 12 & 13, 2020

The Colorado Department of Transportation will be conducting road repairs on railroad crossing at State Highway 79 and Adams Street on Wednesday August 12 and Thursday August 13, 2020.

Road work will begin at 8 a.m. The road will be closed in both directions. Flaggers will be stationed to direct traffic.

Detours will be posted but alternate routes are advised. 

Centennial Park Closed due to Drainage Repair

Centennial Park will be closed starting Friday July 31, 2020 to repair the drainage in area. 

The Town of Bennett is asking residents to stay off park equipment during construction.

Town of Bennett Board of Trustees Thank Phyllis Webb for Years of Service

After three years of dedicated service to the Town of Bennett, Trustee Phyllis Webb will be resigning from her position on the Board of Trustees.  Webb was first appointed to the Town Board in March 2017. 

“We would like to thank Trustee Webb for her time on the Board and the unique and valued opinions she brought to the group,” said Town Administrator, Trish Stiles. 

Planning and Zoning Commissioner, Suzette Pulliam, also recently announced her resignation from the Planning and Zoning Commission. Pulliam has served on the commission since February 2019.

Town of Bennett Announces 2020 Bennett Days Events

In light of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Town Staff have been working hard to create a family-friendly event to celebrate the community while also keeping residents safe and healthy. The Town of Bennett is excited to announce several events for Bennett Days 2020, the majority of which will be held on Saturday September 12th, 2020.

State of the Town 2020

Every summer the Town of Bennett hosts a State of the Town to celebrate our community and stakeholders and to highlight current and past Town projects.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the State of the Town will be held virtually this year through a series of videos.  Throughout the week,  we will be sharing videos with updates from our Mayor and  Bennett staff. 

Virtual Party in the Park

The Bennett Arts Council and Unincorporated Arapahoe County Economic Development will be hosting six free concerts in the months on July, August and September. 

The series will consist of three ‘Party in the Park’ concerts. The first was held virtually on Friday July 17, 2020. We thank everyone who watched and enjoyed the music of Many Mountains.

Town of Bennett Board of Trustees Vote to Opt-Out of Tri-County Health Department Mask Mandate

The Town of Bennett Board of Trustees voted to issue a formal statement to the Tri-County Health Department (TCHD) activating the opt-out clause in the public health agency’s forthcoming mask mandate order. 
The Board of Trustees voted 6-1 to opt-out of the order. 

The public health order was approved on July 8, 2020 and would require people to wear facial coverings in public spaces. The order will go into effect on Friday, July 24, 2020.
