2020 HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN DRAFT FOR PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT

Adams County has developed an update to its 2015 Hazard Mitigation Plan in compliance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. The updated 2020 Hazard Mitigation Plan Draft is now available for public review and comment before it is finalized.

Adams County Levels of Burning Resrictions

Controlled Burns have to be called in to the Adams County Communications Center (303)288-1535.

Check with your Fire District regarding any Burn Permit requirements as not all Districts require permits.

NWS Fire zone CZ0240 – West of N. Schumaker Rd. NWS Fire zone CZ0245 – East of N. Schumaker Rd.

LEVEL 1 – RESTRICTIONS REQUIRED DUE TO SEVERE DRY CONDITIONS/The following acts are prohibited in unincorporated Adams County until further notice:

1. Building, maintaining, attending, or using any fire or campfire.

New Town Hall Hours

Starting the week of June 15, 2020 Town of Bennett will be adjusting Town Hall hours to Monday – Thursday 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Vulnerable population hours will continue as 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. Monday – Thursday. 

Lobby services available in Town Hall include utility bill pay and receiving building department documents and deliveries. 

All Town services are still available online at townofbennett.colorado.gov

Virtual Support from Adams and Arapahoe County June 16, 2020

Adams and Arapahoe County are offering virtual meeting times on Tuesday, June 16, to learn more about support services and available Federal & State assistance programs, which include: Food Assistance, Health First Colorado (Medicaid), Cash Assistance, Child Care Assistance and LEAP.

Town of Bennett Awards Three Applicants Bennett Gives Back Grant

The Town of Bennett funded three community organizations with the Bennett Gives Back Grant on June 9, 2020. 
The 2020 Bennett Gives Back Grant was awarded to the Bennett Park and Recreation District, CASA of Adams County and the Bennett Wrestling Club.  

The Town of Bennett Board of Trustees and Bennett Gives Back Advisory Board approved grant funding for the following projects. 

Town Hall Open to the Public on June 1, 2020

The Town of Bennett Town Hall will be open to the public on June 1, 2020.

While Town Hall is open, the Town of Bennett still encourages residents and visitors to complete their services online, by phone or through email.

Town Hall has modified its regular business hours to the following:

  • Monday to Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Bennett has also instituted special hours of service for higher risk individuals. Vulnerable population hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

CDOT Concrete Panel Replacement Starting June 1, 2020

The Colorado Department of Transportation will be continuing concrete panel replacement on the ramps to State Highway 79 Monday June 8, 2020 until Friday June 12, 2020. 

Please be advised when traveling through the area, these repairs will cause closures and delays. Use alternate routes if at all possible. 

Crews replacing concrete panels, detour in place, take WB exit 306 onto US 36 toward Bennett.
