Town of Bennett Court Procedures: July 2020

Due to the public health precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Bennett Municipal Court will be reopening to the public on July 22, 2020 with the following requirements and restrictions:

Virtual Support from Adams and Arapahoe County July 21, 2020

Adams and Arapahoe County are offering virtual meeting times on Tuesday, July 21, to learn more about support services and available Federal & State assistance programs, which include: Food Assistance, Health First Colorado (Medicaid), Cash Assistance, Child Care Assistance and LEAP.            

Bennett Arts Council and UACED Announce 2020 Eastern Plains Summer Concert Series

The Bennett Arts Council and Unincorporated Arapahoe County Economic Development will be hosting six free concerts in the months of July, August and September. 

The series will consist of three ‘Party in the Park’ concerts, the first held virtually on the Town of Bennett’s Facebook page or website (townofbennett.colorado.gov) and the other two held at Trupp Park in Bennett, CO, and three ‘Music on the Farm’ concerts at May Farms in Byers, CO. Each concert will begin at 6:00 P.M. The summer concert series will be held on the following dates: 

Town Board Meeting Updates

The Town of Bennett Board of Trustees meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The public is encouraged and welcome to attend these meetings. If you cannot attend these meetings, however, we invite you to sign up for our new eNewsletter with board meeting updates.

Summer Fun Goody Bags

The Town of Bennett wants to encourage our neighbors to get out and some summer fun! We will be giving out goody bags starting Tuesday, June 30, 2020 to Bennett Residents.

Town of Bennett Debuts Bennett Community Garden and Mural Wall Art Project

The Town of Bennett celebrated the opening of their new community garden and the unveiling of a community mural wall art project on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. 

The community garden and the mural wall are both located in the Town’s Civic Center Park. 

The Town of Bennett was awarded two grants in 2019 to create the community garden. Those grants were awarded from Adams County Open Space and LiveWell HEAL Cities and Towns. 

2020 HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN DRAFT FOR PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT

Adams County has developed an update to its 2015 Hazard Mitigation Plan in compliance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. The updated 2020 Hazard Mitigation Plan Draft is now available for public review and comment before it is finalized.

Adams County Levels of Burning Resrictions

Controlled Burns have to be called in to the Adams County Communications Center (303)288-1535.

Check with your Fire District regarding any Burn Permit requirements as not all Districts require permits.

NWS Fire zone CZ0240 – West of N. Schumaker Rd. NWS Fire zone CZ0245 – East of N. Schumaker Rd.

LEVEL 1 – RESTRICTIONS REQUIRED DUE TO SEVERE DRY CONDITIONS/The following acts are prohibited in unincorporated Adams County until further notice:

1. Building, maintaining, attending, or using any fire or campfire.

EXEMPTIONS:

New Town Hall Hours

Starting the week of June 15, 2020 Town of Bennett will be adjusting Town Hall hours to Monday – Thursday 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Vulnerable population hours will continue as 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. Monday – Thursday. 

Lobby services available in Town Hall include utility bill pay and receiving building department documents and deliveries.
