The Town of Bennett is excited to introduce three new board members who are dedicated to serving the Town of Bennett for the next four years. We are pleased to have Donna Sus, Denice Smith and Whitney Oakley join our current board.

Donna Sus, a proud fourth generation Colorado native, was born in a small town in Southeastern Colorado, moved to the Denver Metro area in the 1970’s and moved to Bennett in 1998. She worked for general electric supply company and in 1991 purchased an electrical manufacturing marking firm. Sus retired in 2015 and enjoys spending time with her two sons and four grandchildren.

Whitney Oakley is also a proud Colorado native. She has her bachelors of science in human services and currently works as the Branch Manager of the Anythink Bennett Library. She lives in Bennett with her husband, daughter and many animals. Oakley says she is passionate about both her community and public service.

Denice Smith was born in Texas but grew up in Colorado after moving back at the age of two. Denice first moved to Bennett in 2002 where she met her husband, Scott, and was married in 2007. She has worked for First American Real Estate, OppenheimerFunds and Lidke and Associates. Currently, Smith works for Bennett School District as a bus driver where she has a route and trains new bus drivers.

Sus, Oakley and Smith join current board members Mayor Royce Pindell, Rich Pulliam, Darvin Harrell and Phyllis Webb. The new Town Board selected Darvin Harrell as the new Mayor Pro Tem.

The Town of Bennett Board of Trustees also appointed a new Town Clerk, Christina Hart and Town Treasurer, Danette Ruvalcaba. Hart first moved to Colorado in 1998. She was first working for Adams County Motor Vehicle Department when she was approached about a position with the Town, she has been working with the Town since 2016.

Hart says, “I appreciate and am excited to have the opportunity to serve as the Town Clerk of Bennett.  I want to thank my mentor Lynette White for all of her guidance, support, teaching and friendship.  I have some very large shoes to fill.”

Ruvalcaba has worked for the Town of Bennett for four years. She has a Masters in Business Administration from Regis University. She is married with three boys two of which attend the Bennett School District. She is excited about taking on this new position and continuing her work in the community in which her family lives.
