The Town of Bennett celebrated the groundbreaking of a new at grade water storage tank on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
Following Board approval, the Town began construction on the new one-million-gallon water storage tank and booster pump station. The new steel tank will help improve the Town’s water capacity and ability to serve all current and future residents. It will also replace the current concrete water tank and will be located east of the elevated water storage tank.
“We have continued to take significant steps toward strengthening the availability, reliability and quality of the Town’s water,” said Mayor Royce Pindell, “this new water tank is an important step in that process.”
A portion of the financing for this project comes from a $500,000 grant from the Department of Local Affairs and the Town is working with Filanc Construction, Aqua Engineering and Terramax Consulting as contractors.
The new water storage tank is expected to be completed in 2022.
