The Town of Bennett celebrated a new lift station with a ribbon cutting on Monday, June 28, 2021.
The lift station was dedicated and named the R.E.M Lift Station for Rick and Elizabeth Mitchel because of their partnership with the Town on this project.
“This lift station is so important to the Town’s infrastructure and is an example of overcoming many challenges to reach a bright resolution,” said Mayor Royce Pindell, “With the team we have in place, I know we can continue to overcome and put Bennett in the best position to be prepared for the future.”
This is a critical piece of infrastructure for Bennett’s water system because it ensures capacity for new homes being built in Bennett Crossing and makes sure the Town’s sewers flow efficiently to the correct place. The lift station was designed to meet the needs of new development in the area and supplement current Town infrastructure.
The Town of Bennett would like to thank its partners including, Aqua Engineering, LGI Homes, Dan’s Custom Construction, Terramax Consulting, Rick and Elizabeth Mitchel and the Department of Local Affairs for their efforts in making this project a successful one.
