The Town of Bennett is looking for community volunteers to plant and care for the Bennett Community Garden in Civic Center Park.
The Town opened the community garden in the summer of 2020 after receiving grants from Adams County Open Space and LiveWell HEAL Cities and Towns. The garden was created to connect area residents with their agricultural heritage and provide individuals of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to come together in the spirit of community.
This year, the Town will be building at least five new garden beds and is looking for volunteers to care for those beds and help the garden flourish. Volunteers would be assigned a garden plot and would be responsible for plot prep, planting seeds/seedlings, weeding, maintenance and watering their spot.
The Town is recommending a $20 donation per plot for households that wish to participate. This donation goes toward costs associated with water, maintenance and materials for the garden.
