Kids Fishing Event - May 17, 2024
Join the Town of Bennett and the Colorado Department of Wildlife for our second annual kids fishing event. There will be a fishing demonstration and lesson as well as a chance to win door prizes!

BRPOS Fishing Pond in Antelope Hills
This event is for kids from ages 3 – 16 and space is limited to the first 50 participants. Registration is now full for the event, but the fishing pond is open to the public 7 days a week.
Mayor Whitney Oakley Takes Oath of Office
The Town of Bennett welcomed its new Mayor, Whitney Oakley, with great enthusiasm as she took the oath of office during the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday night.
After serving as Trustee and Mayor Pro Tem for the past four year, Mayor Oakley brings experience and understanding of Bennett’s needs and goals for the Town’s future.
Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office to Provide Law Enforcement Services for Town of Bennett
The Board of Trustees and the Arapahoe County Commissioners approved an Intergovernmental Agreement with Arapahoe County to provide Law Enforcement Services to all of incorporated Bennett on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
2024 Bennett Gives Back Grant
Remodel of Bennett Safety Building Underway
The Town of Bennett is excited to have started construction on the remodel of the Public Works Facility, which will now serve as the Town’s Safety Building.
This project is possible in part thanks to a generous $600,000 grant from the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA). This remodel will convert the facility to accommodate various essential departments and services. This was strategically designed to improve the building’s energy efficiency and aims to achieve a LEED Silver efficiency rating.

Planning and Zoning Meeting Canceled
I-70 Concrete Panel Replacement Project from Bennett to Deer Trail
The Colorado Department of Transportation and Ralph L. Wadsworth will begin work March 4, 2024 to replace the aging concrete panels along I-70 eastbound and westbound from Bennett to Deer Trail in Arapahoe County. The project is scheduled for completion on May 3, 2024.
Why is the project needed?
The original pavement was built in 1991. The I-70 driving surfaces are deteriorating, requiring multiple repairs. They need to be permanently replaced for the long-term safety of the traveling public and will also improve driving surface conditions.
